Our Vision
The vision of the Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless is to be the leader in our community's effort to plan, coordinate, and develop resources with the goal of ending homelessness.
Our Mission
The Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless serves as a vehicle to secure HUD funding and provides support to and resources for organizations that provide services for the homeless in the River Region.
Homelessness in our area...
On any given night in our area, 662 people are homeless.
146 are unsheltered
84 are chronically homeless
126 are chronic substance abusers
121 are in families with dependent children
7 are persons with HIV/AIDS
150 have severe mental illness
59 are veterans
78 are victims of domestic violence
